**Role Overview**

The Association is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual as the
**ADVOCACY & RESEARCH ANALYST **to join the team.

The position plays a crucial role in supporting the work of the Association of Interior REALTORS® research and advocacy efforts.

Under the direction of the Government Relations and Policy Lead, this position fosters excellence in the field of advocacy and will be responsible for conducting research, surveys, and analyses; collate and organize old and new sources of research data, updating repositories and identifying opportunities/trends. Provide general administrative support within the government relations and advocacy area and to others within the team; this includes assisting and supporting advocacy projects and position papers, tracking project status, timelines, deliverables, media tracking, and local stakeholder events; assist with writing advocacy reports and content for media and social media platforms.

**Key Responsibilities**

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but not limited to:

- Conducts policy research and analysis to support existing projects and initiatives/proposals for new bodies of work.
- Track project timeline, deliverables, and internal/external partners across multiple projects and teams, proactively communicating progress and potential challenges.
- Collects and ensures the integrity of comparable data, new development, and applicable information.
- Writes assignments to support advocacy projects and initiatives.
- Support the drafting of memos, policy briefs, fact sheets, and background research.
- Collaborates with team members to update repositories with relevant information and resources.
- Oversees and maintains social media platforms for advocacy, including creating and scheduling content with relevant information.
- Communicates through social media about relevant data and policy issues pertinent to the department.
- Monitors and tracks media coverage and local stakeholder events for distribution to members.
- Assists in creating materials for government as stakeholder relations. Assists with position paper, one-pagers and topic briefs as required.
- Supports and prepares for meetings, conference calls, and webinars by coordinating logistics, developing, and preparing agendas, developing content, taking minutes, and following up on resulting action items.
- Collaborates and supports the Government Relations & Policy Lead and team to write advocacy reports.
- Performs other additional related duties as required to meet business needs.

**Consequence of Error/Judgment**

Exercises judgement and initiative in examining and maintaining the Association of Interior REALTORS®’s procedures, guidelines, bylaws, rules, and regulations. Accurately providing information; attention to detail is important with decision making and reflects the Association of Interior REALTORS® operations; therefore, errors in judgment may impact the short/long term and operational activities of the Association of Interior REALTORS®.

**Education/Qualifications**

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (political science, public policy/administration). Three (3) years of experience within government relations and/or a combination of education and experience will be considered. Strong experience in government relations and/or policy analysis is preferred.
