**POSITION

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The duties for this position may involve but are not limited to:

- Create critical paths, event flow and direction to implement special events for YRP.
- Provide supervision to auxiliary members, volunteers, summer students and other staff assisting with special events.
- Maintain a database of stakeholders, services, contacts, mailing lists for distribution.
- Develop promotional and marketing materials for special events.
- Attend special events and oversee and perform set-up, facilitate operations and ensure that all aspects of the event are implemented according to the event plan.
- Conduct food and beverage needs assessment; identify professional catering resources and coordinate special dietary needs.
- Handle cash and/or payments and maintain a spreadsheet of revenues and expenses for each event while adhering to YRP purchasing guidelines and the budget.
- Conduct post-event debriefing sessions and provide feedback and best practices for future reference.
- Maintain an annual events calendar and update as required.

**MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Successful completion of a two (2) year College Diploma in Event Management, Special Events or Sponsorship/Fundraising.
- Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience in coordinating special events, event planning, fundraising and sponsorship.

**PREFERRED

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Problem solving abilities in order to identify best practices and make recommendations on best course of action for event planning based on previous experiences.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal members at all ranks, external vendors and suppliers, community leaders and agency groups, and volunteers to coordinate and plan all aspects of event planning.
- Excellent organizational, time management and detail-oriented skills.
- Communication, presentation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills involving facilitation and customer service.
- Ability to speak another language is an asset.
- Proven ability to handle a multitude of tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
