**Practice Group Billing Assistant Job Description**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Request and process all pre-bills ensuring accuracy of details, and inputting changes to pre-bills;
- As required make amendments to bills, review final copies and prepare final bills for lawyer’s approval;
- submit to lawyers for signing;
- Proactively monitor and review billing system to ensure that client data is kept current and accurate;
- Assist with special billing requests;
- Communicate with clients and third parties;
- Providing backup coverage for others; and
- Other duties as required which may include performing routine clerical, administrative and general office duties.

**Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years' experience in a law firm or professional services environment, in a finance / billing related role
- Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk Diploma preferred;
- Solid understanding of business and legal terminology;
- Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Calendar) and Aderant Accounting Software;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Client-service oriented;
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; and
- Conscientious with strong attention to detail.
