**Who You Are**

We are looking to recruit a Finance & Accounting Clerk to join our growing Finance team. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and has a strong analytical mindset. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who has recently graduated and looking to start their career in an Accounting role.

This role will provide you with exposure to all areas of accounting (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations etc.). If you are an organized team-player and multi-tasker who enjoys a challenge, then this is the role for you

**Role Responsibilities**

In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks with the Finance team providing you with ample opportunity to learn, grow and build a foundation of accounting knowledge. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

- Accounts Payable
- Verifying the accuracy of vendor bills
- Recording the transactions and ensuring timely payments
- Accounts Receivable
- Supporting the automated invoicing process and communicating with customers
- Investigating and resolving any irregularities
- Managing the collection and recording of payments
- Generating customer statements as required
- Bank reconciliation
- Reconciling the general ledger with the statements
- Employee expenses and credit card purchases
- Ensuring company policies and internal limits are followed
- Ensuring supporting documents are obtained, and transactions are recorded in the accounting system
- Month-end activities, annual audit and ad-hoc reporting
- Reviewing and recording period-end accruals
- Preparing of working papers
- Analyzing the variances and working on the special requests from various departments
- Special projects which includes budgeting, forecasting and implementing new systems

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Accounting Diploma or University Degree in Business and Accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Very organized, detail oriented and a strong problem solver
- Willing to learn new tasks with a great attitude

**Location**

This position is open to all applicants located in Ottawa.
