**STUDENT JOB SUMMER 2024**
**Public Affairs and Business Development - Public Affair**
**Digital Engagement Strategy and Publications**

Working in the **Public Affairs and Business Development division, and more specifically, on the Digital Engagement Strategy and Publications team,** you will assist in creating, updating and implementing tools and directories that will help the Museums better understand how knowledge on their areas of research is disseminated, better prepare their promotional strategy, and more efficiently promote publications within their areas of research (history, archaeology, ethnology, cultural studies, military history, etc.).This will be achieved through specific tasks, including
- Conducting research on the target audiences, scale, duration, dates, and locations of past and future events held by organizations and associations specializing in the Museums’ areas of research (such as symposia, congresses, annual meetings, conferences, etc.);
- creating and maintaining, for reference purposes, a directory of national and international journals that specialize in the Museums’ areas of research;
- creating and updating letter templates for the authors and editors of books and scholarly journals, peer reviewers, partners, communities and people of interest, etc.
- creating and maintaining an inventory of all Museum publications and undertaking archival research to help trace the history and development of the Museums’ publications program (in particular, the Mercury Series);
- assisting with book shipments and with the preparation of materials for the Museums’ participation at various events;
- contributing to the development and production of promotional materials; and
- other duties as required.

**What we are looking for**:

- A person who is currently pursuing an undergraduate college or university degree in history, archaeology, cultural studies, publishing, museology, or a related field.
- A person familiar with current publishing practices in the fields of museology and scholarly publishing.
- A person with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite.

**Eligibility criteria**:

- Must be studying full time at a college or university.
- Must return to full-time studies next semester (proof will be required).
- Bilingualism level BBB.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

**Working conditions**:

- Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Possibility of telework.

**Compensation**: $17.00/hour to $23.62/hour (depending on level of education)
**Duration**: May 27 to August 16, 2024
**Security Clearance**: Enhanced Reliability
**Location**: 100 Laurier Street, Gatineau, QC and/or 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, ON
