Students will be given the opportunity to cultivate their skills and knowledge by being paired with experienced employees who will provide feedback during the work term. They will have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience before choosing a career specialization.

This process is intended to staff positions in the **Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre (ITAC)**. This process may also be used to staff positions elsewhere in CSIS.

ITAC is a Government of Canada intelligence fusion centre that contributes to public safety through the assessment of the violent extremism threat to Canadians and Canadian interests abroad. ITAC is a resource for the Government of Canada, and is housed within CSIS national headquarters in Ottawa.

In addition to permanent ITAC staff, ITAC integrates representatives from throughout the Government of Canada, who bring their diverse views, innovative approaches and varied experience to contribute to ITAC’s critical role in assessing violent extremism threats to Canada and Canadian interests abroad. ITAC offers a dynamic and varied work environment, and embraces diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Students will assist with tasks including but not limited to the following:

- Research, consult, analyze, compile, and validate information to provide policy options, analysis, advice, and recommendations to management.
- Prepare briefing notes, talking points, and speeches for senior management use in interdepartmental and international meetings and engagements.
- Assist in developing Cabinet documents such as Memorandum to Cabinet or Treasury Board Submissions.
- Communicate with domestic and international partners.
- Coordinate agendas and programmes for foreign and domestic meetings and visits.
- Support the development of strategic engagement policies and plans.

**Education**:
Registered full time in an Undergraduate degree program (2nd year upwards) including but not limited to the following areas of study:

- Social sciences
- Humanities
- Public policy
- Political Science
- Law
- Business/Commerce
- Economics
- Statistics

Applicants must be registered as a full-time, post-secondary student in an accredited academic institution recognized in Canada during their work term. Special consideration may be given to those enrolled in an accredited co-op/internship program.

**Experience**:
Experience may have been acquired through formal and informal settings (e.g. school, volunteer work experience or projects)
- Experience producing a variety of written reports, such as briefing notes, reports, assessments, summaries and/or memorandums.
- Experience researching and analyzing information in order to draw inferences and/or make recommendations.
- Experience working in a team or consulting with others in order to obtain or provide information.
