**Key responsibilities**:
Provide support services to vulnerable children, youth, and their families

Ability to effectively carry out needs and strength assessments, including risk identification, monitoring and evaluation according to program standards

Coordinate opportunities, programs and services with Senior staff to ensure alignment of the mission, values and vision of the organization

Develops plans and explore goals in conjunction with the family, addressing risk management

Provide group facilitation, mentorship and offer learning spaces for parents and youth

Support youth and their families in navigating social systems / health systems; provide referrals and act as an advocate

Effectively liaise, consult, and collaborate with other service providers and businesses (e.g., schools, Community health, employment services) and make appropriate use of community resources

Network with Community Youth/Family Support Workers from other Community Houses

Follow program guidelines regarding confidentiality, documentation, compilation of reports, record keeping etc.

Participate in quality assurance, evaluation, data collection and research activities

Coordinates staff and volunteers to carry out workplans identified by community assessments

Actively outreaches and bridges supports that are beneficial to the community we serve

Represents agency in a positive manner, promotes public relations by interpreting agency services to other organizations and community groups as needed, participates in recruitment activities

Attends to administrative duties and other such responsibilities as assigned from time to time

**Qualifications**:
University Degree and/or College Diploma in Child/Youth Studies, Social Work, Community Development or equivalent

A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with racialized children and **youth **who experience issues of poverty, discrimination, issues in the education system or face other societal barriers

Experience in management is essential

Knowledge of, and or lived experience of the Black, Indigenous, People of Colour communities In Ottawa is required

Experience supporting individuals with mental health/behavioral and/or emotional challenges would be considered an asset

Excellent knowledge of community resources essential; especially relating to mental health services in Ottawa

Experience in leading community development and capacity building approaches

Strong leadership skills in developing, and facilitating groups in a community-based setting

Excellent interpersonal communication, de-escalation skills and documentation abilities

Must have a strong understanding of evaluation methodology

Strong oral and written communication skills

Bilingualism preferred; French, Arabic, Somali, Creole, or other languages commonly spoken among Black communities in Ottawa will be considered an asset

Certified or willing to obtain certification in Standard First-Aid/CPR mandatory

Must have a G driver’s license and access to a vehicle

A vulnerable sector police reference check

**Conditions of Employment**:
An offer of employment will be conditional upon the receipt of the following:

- All applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada for the duration of their employment

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $26.00-$31.00 per hour
