We’re committed to designing and supporting the game-changing data integration technologies today’s businesses need to succeed. In joining Riva, you’ll play a vital role in defining how information is shared and in how business relationships grow.
**WHO YOU ARE**
You’ve had your hand in building compelling, innovative products that have made people’s lives a little bit easier, a little more fun, or a little bit more connected. As a Product Owner, you hold a high bar for consumer experience, strong customer empathy, a bias for action, excellent execution capability, and strategic vision. You are a persuasive communicator, securing buy-in from stakeholders on all significant decisions and strategies and providing clear instructions and deliverables for the developers. Curiosity is a strong suit, and you pair it with experience and knowledge of gathering and synthesizing customer needs.
**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**
A Product Owner at Riva is instrumental to the organization’s growth. Reporting to the Director of Product Experience, you’ll work with cross-discipline development and stakeholder teams, driving discovery, planning, development, and launch. Being accountable for each stage of the development process and the final product, your passion, and your vision will motivate teams to move with urgency and accuracy. Your effective communication and relationship-building skills advocate for the product, ensure clear goals, and align vision with business objectives. More specifically you will:
- Act as the voice of the customer to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint planning, and prioritization of the product backlog.
- Working closely with stakeholders to plan, develop and provide product and feature management, education, and roadmaps to promote and showcase Riva products and services and releases.
- Understand business and end-user needs; identify and prioritize features to be delivered to meet those needs. Set expectations with business stakeholders for the delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
- Work with business and technical stakeholders to develop and document user stories.
- Analyze feedback from sprint reviews and other data such as end-user feedback and operational metrics to identify and understand product needs.
- Work with the development team to create acceptance criteria and definitions of failures and done.
- Assist the team in the development of feature tests, test cases, and regression tests.
- Planning, creating, and documenting the product features, release schedules, development efforts, and product roll-out.
- Creating, modifying, and owning user stories and feature documentation; working directly and indirectly with customers and stakeholders to gather, define, write, and accept (user) stories ensuring the work life cycle meets the definition of done.
- Writing, editing, preparing, and providing technical documentation and publishing them appropriately to our Knowledge Base and related sites.
- Working with the support and testing teams and the developers to identify, replicate, confirm and communicate bugs and implement recommendations of bug fixes to the developer team for remediation.
- Identify needs, gaps, or missing processes and workflows, either owning the creation and monitoring of processes or working with others in the company.
**WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE**
- Experience as an agile Product Owner/Manager and Business Analyst.
- Experience with B2B SaaS products.
- Experience using systems like Figma to create clickable prototypes and basic working knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript.
- Product owner certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner Certification) are a plus.
- Ability to understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs with your team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
- A strong business mindset to analyze data points, assess an opportunity, make prioritization recommendations, and craft a well-thought-out strategy and execution plan.
- Can speak intelligently and build credibility with designers, cross-functional leadership, and engineers while always striving to learn or understand their domain.
- A self-starter attitude with proven ability to define an idea or goal and drive to completion no matter the obstacle.
- Robust and active listening, collaboration, and trust-building skills.
**MORE ABOUT RIVA**
