**Position Summary**

The Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) project is a 16-month program designed to provide practical work experience for students. They will gain industry experience, develop essential workplace and leadership skills with the guidance of industry mentors and Employment Advisors. Participants will work with employers on traditional work placements and also on cross-disciplinary teams on industry challenges presented by employers. In addition to the technical skills required by industry, students will also develop transferable skills including collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving in working towards innovative solutions to business challenges.

Reporting to the Manager, Career Development Projects and Operations, the incumbent will oversee the implementation of the WIL program and ensure that deliverables are met in accordance of with the BHER/Centennial funding agreement. In collaboration with internal partners from Career Services and Co-operative Education, Strategic Initiatives and External Relations, Academic Schools and Student and Community Engagement, the Project Coordinator will develop protocols for the delivery of the program and the evaluation framework. The Coordinator will work with specialized services (Centre Accessible Learning and Counselling Services and the Community Outreach team) to promote the program and recruit students to ensure participation of underrepresented groups.

The Project Coordinator will also oversee the development of marketing and communication materials aimed at both industry and community partners in order to secure appropriate industry-sponsored projects and work experience opportunities. The Project Coordinator will develop workplace/skills curricula in collaboration with the Career Services team and coordinate advising services and ongoing career coaching for program participants.
The Project Coordinator will establish relationships internally and formalize processes/protocols to secure effective and meaningful work-integrated learning opportunities and career development supports for students. The Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and chairing an Advisory Committee and working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders that support effective implementation of the program.

**Responsibilities**

**Project Coordination**:

- Lead the development and implementation of the work-integrated learning initiative as outlined in the funding agreement
- Establish Advisory Committee
- Develop Terms of Reference for Advisory Committee
- Develop evaluation framework in collaboration with BHER/Blueprint partner and in collaboration with Centennial’s Data, Analytics and Research Office Research (DARO)
- Develop guidelines and supporting documents to support the implementation of the program
- Oversee the development of print and virtual resources
- Coordinate the development of workplace skills curriculum, including working with internal partners and external contractors (writer/editor)
- Recruit program participants, develop screening criteria and assist in the orientation process
- Liaise with departments working with particular cohorts, such as Indigenous learners and students with disabilities to ensure participation of underrepresented groups
- Develop and implement evaluation plan in collaboration with DARO (administer assessment tools - surveys, focus groups etc.)
- Provide regular project updates to relevant stakeholders - internal and external
- Develop sustainability plan including recommendations for continuation of the model
- Monitor participant targets (students and employers), satisfaction rates and project outcomes to ensure deliverables are met in accordance with the BHER funding agreeme
