**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority ( Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Revenue, the Coordinator, Revenue is a member of the management team and is responsible for coordinating the accounts receivable, billing and collections functions for the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA).

The Coordinator oversees the revenue function by performing a variety of supervisory duties such as scheduling, coordinating and delegating work assignments, and selecting and orienting staff. The Coordinator ensures that billing and collections processes for VIHA meet the standards set out in the Revenue and Accounts Receivable policies and guidelines, and complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a recognized professional accounting designation such as CA, CMA, or CGA and five (5) years' experience in a large health care environment including supervision and experience with revenue computer technology.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Good understanding of Health Care Revenue policies, principles and procedures.
- Knowledge and practice in effective problem solving techniques.
- Effective time management and team leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with technical and operational staff.
- Ability to effectively work with and motivate staff.
