- As an Issue Strategist, you will identify, research, analyze, and recommend the municipal role in emerging trends or persistent social issues. In addition, you will deliver a wide range of services related to The City's commitment to creating neighborhoods and communities that foster social inclusion, economic participation, and sense of belonging. You will also advance the City's commitment to the social component of the Triple Bottom Line. Primary duties include:

- Lead the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and initiatives.
- Create policy options and analyze potential opportunities and risks associated with achieving desired social outcomes.
- Develop project charter, timelines, budget as well as identify achievable actions for complex cross-corporate and cross-sector collaborations.
- Create and implement performance measures and evaluate project outcomes.
- Develop written reports, recommendations, and presentations to internal and external interested parties.
- Provide strategic leadership to a wide range of groups, which may include Council Boards, Commissions and Committees, Intergovernmental/non-profit agencies/post-secondary partners, community groups, and cross-Corporate teams to collectively advance a policy, strategy, or initiative.

**Qualifications**
- A degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Policy Development or a related field and at least 7 years of experience in the areas of policy and program development, systems planning, project management, community development and/or government/interested parties' relations. OR
- A graduate degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Policy Development or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in the areas of policy and program development, systems planning, project management, community development and/or government/interested parties' relations.
- Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft programs (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is an asset.
- Understanding of complex community and social issues and the City's Neighbourhood Support Service Line is an asset.
- Experience using online tools for community engagement and capacity building is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, including presentation, training and group facilitation.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, adaptability, political acumen, and project management skills.
- Ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse partners.
