Overview:
As a Construction Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities within the construction industry. Your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining relationships with potential clients, creating, and implementing effective sales strategies, and contributing to the growth and profitability of the company. This role requires a strong understanding of the construction industry, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a results-oriented mindset.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Identify and research potential clients and construction projects that align with the company's capabilities and goals.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities through proactive lead generation, networking, and market research.
- Develop and implement strategies to target and engage potential clients, including attending industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify market trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective promotional materials, proposals, and presentations for client meetings.

Client Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing and potential clients to understand their needs, objectives, and project requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing industry insights, technical expertise, and innovative solutions to meet their construction needs.
- Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to secure new contracts and maintain client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth handover from business development to project execution, maintaining open lines of communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Sales and Revenue Generation
- Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals and presentations to potential clients.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions, pricing, and project scope to maximize profitability and win new business.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify potential sales opportunities and adapt the company's offerings accordingly.
- Collaboration and Reporting
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, estimators, and executives, to ensure alignment between business development efforts and operational capabilities.
- Track and report on key performance indicators, such as sales pipelines, revenue forecasts, and business development activities.
- Provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to the senior management team on market trends, client feedback, and business development strategies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven track record of success in business development or sales within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, industry trends, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant business tools.
