Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Events Coordinator develops and coordinates RMSS events at two RMSS Activity Centres. This includes creating events appropriate to the image and purpose of RMSS mission and objectives. The Events Coordinator must be able to work a flexible work schedule.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Events & Promotions**
- Forecasting how many volunteers are needed and for what roles to carry out various events, special lunch days, lunch buddies program and teas.
- Plan, coordinate and implement an event calendar annually and see them out from concept to completion.
- Coordinate food service arrangements, tickets, guest lists and purchase décor and supplies as needed.
- Book entertainers
- Prepare and monitor events budgets to ensure revenue is generated
- Prepare information for the annual report
- Maintain a record of participation data for each event
- Work with the Coordinator of Volunteers for volunteer recruitment.
- Plan and organize admission process and ticket sales for events.
- Create and arrange for advertising of events by way of social media, publications, posters and local community boards
- Create and lead a volunteer events committee to assist in various events.
- Oversee the Karaoke program inclusive of inventory, bottle returns and volunteer training.
- Vacation and sick day relief for Pitt Meadows Facility Attendant.

**Workplace safety**
- Identifying risks and ensure a safe environment for events, RMSS members, volunteers and Guests
- Assist in the development of standards and procedures that will eliminate or reduce those risks
- Implement, promote and evaluate these standards and procedures
- Other duties as required

**Desired Knowledge and Skills**
- Graduation of a university or college Recreation Studies program (preferably with Gerontology courses) or 2 years relevant experience
- Event coordination experience
- Strong written communication & interpersonal skills
- Able to juggle multiple tasks/projects
- Have strong organizational skills
- Confidence with public speaking
- Experience working with seniors
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Publisher)
- Familiarity with non-profit sector
- Ability to obtain a clean criminal record check

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: $23.00 per hour
