Under the direction of the Interim Housing, Public Works and Infrastructure Manager, the **Temporary Housing Coordinator** is responsible for department administration, coordinating subcontractors, and researching and securing funding as available through CMHC, ISC or other funding providers for on reserve housing.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**: Housing Coordinator

**DEPARTMENT**: Housing, Public Works, and Infrastructure

**LOCATION**: Lands Building

**REPORTING TO**: Interim Housing, Public Works, and Infrastructure Manager

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure tenants follow housing policy and rental agreements.
- Submit ISC and CMHC funding submissions to support repairs and or renovations to section 95 homes and Homeowners.
- Ensure tenants follow housing policy and rental agreements.
- Issue approved tenant notices for violations to housing policy and rental agreements
- Account payable duties
- code, track and submit invoices to Manager for review and approval.
- Work with public works to respond to and manage housing crisis and emergency situations.
- Oversee tenant information filing system, ensuring files are accessible when needed and up to date.
- Maintain records of all future and current tenants in compliance with the established standards.
- Coordinates meetings for the Housing Manager and Housing Councilor, as needed.
- As requested by department manager, draft department work plans, goals, objectives, and reports.
- Under the direction of the department manager, work toward meeting housing objectives as set out in the KFN Strategic Plan.
- Perform housing and public works administrative duties and support by assisting with receiving incoming and outgoing calls, file management, and travel arrangements.
- Coordinate the ongoing maintenance and housing activities of CMHC Social Housing and Rental Units to ensure that all CMHC Social Housing Units and Rental Homes are maintained within established codes, standards, KFN Housing Policy’s, Bylaws, and laws.

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
- Work experience in an office setting
- Basic knowledge of Housing program: Section 95, band Rentals, individual ownership, is an asset but training will be provided.
- Ability to learn and maintain a good understanding of the KFN Housing Policy’s, Bylaws, and laws.
- Prior experience with project management asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Adobe
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Flexibility and the ability to handle a diverse and complex workload, responding to requests and queries in a respectful, timely and effective manner.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, multi-tasking environment with tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and manage ever-changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal day-to-day supervision and within a collaborative team framework.
- Demonstrated genuine respect for Katzie First Nations culture and protocols.
- Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and urban communities.
- Willing to attend training and workshops.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)
- Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in some cases if an event requires it.

**Expected Start Date**: Immediate

**Job Type**: Full-time Temporary (6-month contract)

**Salary**: $23 - $25 per hour.
