Call Centre Collection Officer

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct outbound calls to customers with outstanding balances, adhering to established scripts and communication guidelines.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and settlement terms with customers to facilitate the resolution of delinquent accounts.
- Handle incoming calls from customers seeking information on their accounts, providing clear and concise explanations regarding outstanding balances.
- Review and analyze customer accounts to assess the severity of delinquency and determine appropriate collection strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, payment agreements, and account statuses in our collection system.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies governing debt collection practices.
- Process payments over the phone, providing customers with receipts and confirmation details for successful transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer service and finance, to address customer issues and streamline the resolution process.
- Generate reports on collection activities, outstanding accounts, and payment trends for management review.
- Work towards achieving or exceeding collection targets set by the company, developing strategies to improve overall collection rates.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a collections role or a similar position is preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection.
- Proficiency in using collection software and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift

Ability to Relocate:

- Mississauga, ON: Relocate before starting work (required)
