The Intermediate Analyst works as a member of the Analyst team and is responsible for providing quantitative and qualitative information analysis and reporting to support strategic decision and policy-making by the university's senior administration. The Intermediate Analyst researches, compiles information, conducts analyses, and prepares reports on a variety of issues for internal uses and also for dissemination to external agencies. The Intermediate Analyst assists in the development, updating, and management of data and information in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) databases. This role also extracts data and information from other internal and external sources to prepare ad hoc and recurring reports and assessments. The Intermediate Analyst responds to internal and external requests for information, data analysis and to institutional surveys from ranking and other external agencies. As a member of the Analyst team, the incumbent of the position contributes to the design and development of information systems and the identification of the university's future information needs.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Science, Business Administration, or Social Sciences, and three years of related experience including experience in research methods, statistical analysis, survey methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Good knowledge of research methods, statistics, and performance measurement and assessment.
- Good knowledge of survey methodology, administration, and analysis.
- Good knowledge of programming languages, query languages, relational databases, and statistical packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS, SQL, Python, and Access).
- Good knowledge of data structures and data relationships of systems and specifically the ability to use query tools to quickly obtain accurate and relevant information.
- Good knowledge of HTML, Adobe Acrobat, and CQ5 for the placement of statistics and reports on the web.
- Good knowledge of Windows-based software systems, particularly the Microsoft Office suite of productivity tools, including spreadsheets and pivot tables, database, presentation and word processing tools.
- Good knowledge of enterprise level student information systems and financial information systems (e.g., Student Information Management System (SIMS), HR/Payroll System (HAP).
- Good knowledge of the issues concerning higher education at universities and other post-secondary institutions.
- Strong data analysis, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when responding to requests for data and information.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy and to perform duties in a professional manner.
- Ability to collaborate with others in the collection and analysis of data.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
