**Wage**: $18.00/hour

**Start date**:June 1st 2023
Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7 hours a day

**The following 3 requirements must be met to be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs position**:

Protection Act.

3. Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students
are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents

The Student Association of BCIT is a non-profit student services and advocacy organization at the second largest post-secondary institution in British Columbia. The SA supports and enhances the quality of student life for over 48,000 full-time and part-time students across five campuses. Students lead our organization and drive our strategy. **The Position.**

As a Business Systems Assistant assist in analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining organizational information and business systems. You will use data, analytics, and customer experiences to drive organizational business solutions and help in identify organizational improvements using business operations process analysis and designs to drive your recommendations. You will work on diverse projects for the advancement of the Association as assigned.

**More specifically, your key duties and responsibilities will be the following**:
**Internal Services**
- Collaborate with staff, facilitating development of business process, workflow improvements, and automation
- Collect and document business requirements for software, process improvement and developments initiatives
- Assist in the creation of process documentation and workflows for business operations and IT services
- Obtain and manipulate data to prove and support decision making and recommendations
- Complete tasks and duties for projects on time
- Liaise with Business System Manager on projects as needed

**Operational Duties**
- Understand and follow all policies and procedures
- Assist in developing and improving all departmental documentation, policies, and procedures

**Training & Development**
- Assist in the creation and delivery of training material for business processes and IT Systems
- Assist in identifying and communicating staff training needs to Business Systems Manager

**Relationship Building, Networking and Communication**
- Cultivate and manage authentic relationships with all staff and key internal and external stakeholders

**Other Related Duties**
- Help Staff with minor software and hardware troubleshooting
- Build and maintain knowledge for the MS 365 Office suite of tools
- Be available for on-call support as needed
- Assist other staff with duties, especially when busy
- Other related duties as required

**BCITSA Agent**
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with any internal or external stakeholders
- Understand and promote our mission and values naturally and know our basic history

**Supplementary Information**
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Must be able to focus on a digital display for long periods of time

- Superior written and spoken English language skills
- Intermediate proficiency using MS Office Suite and remote work tools
