The Junior Analyst works as a member of the Analyst team and is responsible for providing basic quantitative and qualitative information analysis and reporting to support strategic decision and policy-making by the university’s senior administration. Under the direction of the Executive Director, Associate Director, or a Senior or Intermediate Analyst, the Junior Analyst conducts research; participates in study design; compiles information; conducts analyses; and prepares reports on a variety of issues for internal uses and also for dissemination to external agencies. The Junior Analyst responds to internal and external requests for information, data analysis, and institutional surveys received from external agencies.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative science, business administration, or social sciences with one year of related experience, including experience in research methods, data analysis and survey methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Good knowledge of research methods, data analysis methods, and performance measurement and assessment.
- Good knowledge of survey methodology, administration, and analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows-based Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables.
- Good knowledge of Windows-based Microsoft Office suite of productivity tools, including, word-processing and presentation tools.
- Good knowledge of Adobe Acrobat or other tools for placement of statistics and reports on the web.
- Good knowledge of SQL programming for creating or updating existing databases.
- Some knowledge of the issues concerning higher education at universities and other post-secondary institutions.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when responding to requests for data and information.
- Strong data analysis, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
- Ability to deliver accurate information in a timely manner.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy and to perform duties in a professional manner.
- Ability to collaborate with others in the collection and analysis of data.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
