The Manager, Variable Compensation and Reporting, advances the mandate of the Sales Reporting and Analytics team by assisting with the processing of variable compensation-based pay, working with HR/Legal partners to assist with employee queries and escalations, and supporting the Senior Manager in project management tasks with regards to variable compensation-based technology tools and initiatives.

**Is this role right for you? In this role, you will**:

- Variable Compensation Processing: learn and assist with variable compensation processing cycle for both HFS and SMA channels, supporting where necessary and taking on supervisory tasks when Senior Manager is away.
- Employee Queries: Act as first point of contact in responding to employee queries that are with regards to their commission pay, including working with partners in Human Resources, Legal, Finance, and the Businesses to appropriately triage and respond.
- Project Management: Provide support on special projects and initiatives including technology upgrades for payment processing, development of new policy proposals, and generating reporting
- Document Creation: Implement system to document process guides, employee user guides, training materials, and presentations with regards to variable compensation
- Process Mapping: Be responsible for understanding day to day operations of variable compensation and implementing best practices and efficiency improvements
- Stakeholder Management: Assist and act as point of contact for partners and stakeholders including Human Resources (Payroll, Benefits, askHR), Employee Law Group, Finance, and Business partners

**Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have**:

- University degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong judgement, critical thinking and financial acumen required
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal fluency in English (and French an asset)
- Strong understanding of sales effectiveness principles, approaches and tactics
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry and Scotiabank’s real estate secured lending strategy
- Quantitative/Finance reporting background, payroll/Compensation experience, considered an asset
- Experience in project management and stakeholder partnership building
- Proficiency in sales technology and data systems
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end real estate secured lending process
- A proven ability to navigate complex organizations with several stakeholders to achieve results
