Innovate Calgary is the technology transfer and business incubator center for the University of Calgary. As part of the Office of the Vice-President (Research) portfolio, we work with University of Calgary researchers, students, and other members to bridge the gap between discovery and create economic and societal impact.

**About the Social Innovation Hub**
The Social Innovation Hub (SIH) connects social entrepreneurs and changemakers with community-led programming, cross-sectoral networks, coaching, mentorship, and provides access to capital and space to help launch and grow successful social enterprises. We are a passionate and creative team committed to building an inclusive innovation ecosystem.

**The Role**

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Actively supports community engagement while promoting equitable, diverse, and inclusive innovation, and contributes to Innovate Calgary's reconciliation efforts
- Collaborates closely with Innovate Calgary Programs Team to become an expert in programming content and acts as a pathfinder for innovators and entrepreneurs to enroll into programs that support their founder journey
- Actively provides support to coordinate, activate, and execute events for the Black, Indigenous, People of Colour and Rural Innovators pitch series
- Escalating opportunities for collaborative events to the Senior Innovation Manager, Inclusive Innovation and working with the community to plan and execute events
- Operates as an ambassador of Innovate Calgary Social Innovation Hub at events and hosts, greets, and conducts presentations that provide guidance of how innovators can access programs and get engaged and connected in the broader innovation communities.
- Identifies and contacts diverse experts, advisors, mentors and speakers for events and programs
- Liaises with the Innovate Calgary Marketing and Communications team and external stakeholders, including venues, event management companies, promotional products suppliers, etc., to plan, execute and activate Innovate Calgary's sponsored or owned events as assigned.
- Networks with local innovators to invite and promote Innovate Calgary's mandate, values, programs, and other supports at events.
- A key point of contact for online and in-person inquiries from entrepreneurs
- Creates specific plans and next steps for individuals and companies and follows-up with next steps and opportunities.
- Supports other team coordinators for events throughout the year as needed
- Accommodates working outside regular hours, and opportunities for travel, where required

**Qualifications**:

- 2+ years of related work networking and community-building experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field an asset
- Excels in a start-up environment with flat organizational structure and strong team collaboration
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high-level of integrity and confidentiality
- Passion for innovation and entrepreneurship
- Relationship building and community engagement will be an asset
