The Great Bear Rainforest is a very special part of BC that few people get to experience. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife, this setting is a spectacular place to work. Our lodge in a fly-in fishing lodge, providing all inclusive adventures, catering to 40 guests at a time.

The seasonal Lodge Chef is responsible for buffet style meal service for up to 40 guests as well as buffet meals for up to 18 staff. This position works closely with the Sous Chef and Servers, and must be an enthusiastic team player with excellent work ethic and social skills.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Daily preparation and presentation of hot buffet breakfast & eggs to order, boat snacks, boxed lunches, hot buffet lunch, home made soup snack (2x day), gourmet buffet dinner and night snack for 40 guests
- Twice a week BBQ lunch for up to 40 guests
- Daily preparation of 3 x buffet meals & evening snack for up to 18 staff
- Respond to special requests, food allergies and dietary needs in an attentive and effective manner
- Maintain a professional personal appearance
- In FOH during service carving/serving/interacting & engaging with guests
- Planning of weekly menu items required, preparation of grocery order lists
- Fulfill weekly food orders (Sysco Online)
- Manage inventory of all food storage (fridge, freezers, dry storage)
- Unloading and storage of food and beverage deliveries
- Kitchen cleaning and maintenance - open kitchen must be kept spotless at all times
- Dishwashing of pots, pans, serving and prep dishes

**Successful Applicant will have**:

- Food-safe Certification
- Experience leading in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
- Skilled Online food ordering experience (Sysco)
- Customer Service with a desire to provide a first-class guest experience
- Lodge/remote camp work experience is an asset
- Very outgoing, personable, well groomed
- Hard-working, eager, enthusiastic, adaptable and willing to accept new challenges
- Extremely organized and self-motivated
- Physical mobility and stamina
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to work unsupervised

The **Chef** is responsible for overseeing and supervising the day to day operation of the kitchen; ordering food ingredients, keeping an organized environment and executing a set menu. Other responsibilities such as assisting with the preparation, serving, and control of cooked and uncooked food, training of staff and ensuring that staff follows prescribed Food Safety protocol. **Our Chef will go the extra mile to ensure our guests are nourished with incredible food, so they can enjoy their fishing adventure to the fullest.**

We need a spirited team player looking for an adventure that can handle the intense and isolated work environment. No days off.

Season is mid June to early Sept.

Work is 12 hrs/day split shift, 7 days/week for 12 weeks. **No days off.**

All our employment contracts are in compliance with Employment Standards Pay Regulations & includes overtime as per BC Employment Standards.

Must hold valid Food Safe certificate, have ample experience in Online Sysco Food Ordering & provide references.

No alcohol. No drugs. Policy strictly enforced.
