Reporting to the Manager, Delivery team, the primary purpose of this specialized position is to design, develop/update and deliver or assist in delivering training for Enterprise Commons.

The scope includes both technical and business process training for functionalities within Human Capital Management/Finance/Supply Chain Management/Project Management/Project Systems.

This position is required to implement the learning strategy for Enterprise Commons, create new or update existing training materials (e-learning, simulations, quick reference guides, and instructor led), provide quality assurance checking of materials created by Training Specialists on other Delivery Teams, facilitate training programs, coach business area Subject Matter Experts who fill the educator role, and maintain virtual learning support.

As the Training Specialist I, you will be responsible to:

  • Identify appropriate, relevant and required course content
  • Provide recommendations for the continuity of course content at higher levels
  • Develop training material content, working collaboratively with team members to ensure integration of all information and terminology
  • Evaluate and provide updates to existing training documentation
  • Create training materials including: elearning, classroom presentations, system demonstrations, quick reference guides, justintime videos, webinars, training manuals, etc.; and
  • Evaluate and provide updates to existing training documentation
  • Provide recommendations for type of training delivery based on training objectives established by Program Sponsor
  • Deliver (or codeliver) courses in an environment conducive to adult learning
  • Consult with internal and external contacts for program development and delivery
  • Provide input for the development of priorities in the Training Plan
  • Analyze training needs (skills assessment) for content and timing
  • Efficiently plan resources while developing content
  • Identify training plans and course contents for special projects
  • Compile reports identifying training profiles, associated costs and staff identification
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in training required for Enterprise Commons
  • Create and maintain learning and development documents library, evaluation forms, and other administrative duties as required
  • Additional related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • University degree from a recognized program in education, such as a Bachelor of Education, Adult Learning & Development or related field
  • 2 years of progressively related experience working in the field of adult education and/or developing course curriculum
  • Experience and/or knowledge in one or more business process/functions such as: Human Capital Management/Finance/Supply Chain Management/Project Management/Project Systems
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design strategies
  • Experience using educational authoring tools/technology to create learning content/materials (i.e. Adobe Captivate)
  • Experience using Google Suite
  • Ability to convey technical training to both a technical and nontechnical audience
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate online and inperson training sessions with a variety of clients
  • Knowledge of the City's technology
  • Ability to facilitate training sessions with a variety of clients
  • Ability to analyze complex technical information
  • Proven planning and organization skills to manage program delivery
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitation of groups with competing interests and priorities
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact well with a diverse group of executives, colleagues, staff and citizens
