ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, RECRUITMENT (Support Staff)

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) employs approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington, and the City of Guelph. The UGDSB covers the ancestral and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

LOCATION: Guelph Board Office (500 Victoria Rd. N, Guelph, ON)

SALARY RANGE: $55,337 to $69,171 per year (under review); 35 hours per week

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Human Resources team in the capacity of Administrative Officer, Recruitment (Support Staff).

Reporting to the Staffing Supervisor - Support Staff and working within your assigned support staff portfolio which includes, but is not limited to emergency support workers, you will provide support and guidance to supervisory personnel on HR matters with a focus on recruitment and staffing. Within your assigned portfolio, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

**Responsibilities**:

- Full cycle recruitment and selection for emergency support workers.
- Prepare job posting, develop interview guides, schedule, and participate in interviews, complete reference checks.
- Liaise/coordinate with various advertisement agencies, including attending job fairs as needed.
- Prepare employment offer letters, onboarding of new hires, HRIS data entry.
- Set up new hires in the call out system (Smart Find Express) and process any changes.
- Regular reporting and analysis of supply list to ensure adequate emergency support workers staffing levels.
- Provides support to other portfolios and HR projects as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned to grow and develop as an HR professional.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education with additional courses in human resources management combined with a CHRP designation or qualifications/experience deemed equivalent by the Board.
- Minimum of three years of recent, related and professional experience in Human Resources to include a recruitment and/or employee/labour relations focus.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel/Word), Google Docs and other databases.
- Working knowledge of Smart Find Express (SFE) would be considered an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously with all levels of staff, external contacts, and the general public.
- Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills combined with the ability to work under pressure to meet competing deadlines, with a strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to work independently in an organized manner, and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Initiative, sound judgement and a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Demonstrated understanding of commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Experience in a unionized/school board/public sector organization would be an asset.
- Flexibility to perform and accomplish other duties as assigned.
