You ensure quality in the factory and are responsible for meeting quality targets. You are fully responsible for the people, machinery and the identification and elimination of quality losses and problems in the department. You grow your team’s capabilities and coordinates departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements and ISO standards. In this role, you report directly to the plant manager with dotted line responsibility to corporate quality.

**How you will contribute**

You will ensure that all quality objectives, goals and targets in the factory (including regional and global commitments) are met. You will develop and track your department’s budget and eliminate losses. With your team, you will conduct regular plan-do-act-check assessments to plan how targets will be met, executing the plan and periodically checking and taking action to stay on track. In addition, you will ensure that there is strict adherence with all appropriate laws, food safety quality standards and consumer requirements of all manufactured products and manage crisis situations internally and externally in ways that support the company’s image, policies and business. As a people leader, you are responsible for recruitment and structuring of the department to ensure there are sufficient resources to deliver on plant objectives, set and assess performance goals, and coach and mentor team members.

- Working with external manufacturing suppliers to ensure compliance to our policies and procedures and technical vendors to support compliance
- Working with customers on quality related issues

Primary responsibilities are to oversee the shop floor operation in the production and packaging areas and ensure the proper programs and systems are in place to achieve compliance to Regulatory expectations according to GMPs (Food, Drug, Dietary Supplement FDA and NHP), corporate and local Quality Policies and SOPs.

**What you need to know about this position**:

- Ensure all core competency trainings are completed according to policy.
- Maintain awareness / proficiency in the current requirements of ISO / FSSC.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Sanitation policies.
- Assist the Quality Manager in developing and maintaining Quality Systems for the plant to ensure compliance to applicable standards both regulatory and corporate.
- Manage the HACCP food safety program.
- Manage the audit program and monitor systems for compliance to Food, Drug, Dietary Supplement, FDA and NHP requirements.
- Act as the designate for the Quality Manager as required for Change Controls, incident investigations and Consumer complaint reviews.
- Function as site CAPA coordinator including RCA review and ensure closure of investigations in a timely manner.
- Function as site electronic data entry system (Quality Suite) administrator.
- Participate and review both internal and external audits performed at facility.
- Work in conjunction with Production to ensure that Good Housekeeping, Good Manufacturing, and Good Documentation Practices are adhered to.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of the site Master Sanitation Schedule on a routine basis, ensuring adherence to sanitation requirements.
- Responsible for the review and collection of information and data to support compliance of site sanitation, pest control and environmental monitoring programs.
- Work in conjunction with Production & Engineering colleagues to create and revise applicable SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Work in safe manner and be aware of potential safety hazards in the department and workplace.
- Function as part of the operations and quality work teams, providing assistance to other work areas to accomplish necessary functions and projects.
- In conjunction with colleagues, address incidents as required to ensure consumer safety and product quality.
- Provide Quality compliance training to site colleagues as per training program.
- Must be able to prioritize work for maximum time effectiveness and efficiency and handle a number of situations at one time including concentrating and paying close attention to detail.
