Young Animal Specialist

Grober Nutrition Inc., a Gay Lea Foods Ltd. company, headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, is seeking a **Young Animal Specialist **to promote and increase sales through feed distributors and dealers with a focus in agriculture through the dairy and small ruminant sectors. The company’s leading products support calf, lamb, and kid-goat operations. Grober Nutrition Inc. is 50 years strong in the agricultural industry. They specialize in manufacturing premium quality milk replacers, are a leader in on-farm research to continuously seek out leading edge nutrition, husbandry skills, housing techniques and feeding schedules for young animals.

This team member must have a passion for the health and nutrition of young livestock, with a thorough understanding in the calf’s nutritional requirements, plus knowledge of feeding equipment and housing. The position requires an independent person with an interest and aptitude for technologies (e.g. feeding management systems). A dairy farm background is an asset.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build companies position as an important key player in milk replacer
- Recommend technical approaches that are aligned with business and brand strategy to provide on-farm solutions
- Support product launches to sales teams, veterinarians and end-users in meetings and/or webinars as needed
- Build and maintain relationships with opinion leaders and/or decision makers on a regular basis to identify customer needs
- Participate in trade shows and producer meetings where company representation is required
- Provide on-site and virtual seminars/training to prospects and current accounts
- Provide supporting input on customer needs to management through agreed communication channels

Qualifications:

- 2-5 years of experience working in the feed industry
- Degree is Animal Science
- Experience in sales with distribution network and producers
- Connections within the industry
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to travel

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
