Science North is currently recruiting for a Development Manager with a passion for building relationships and a focus on achieving fundraising excellence.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Development, the Development Manager will contribute to the achievement of our mission by stewarding relationships with, and growing support from, current and future corporate partners. They will additionally source, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and secure support from new partners and donors to fulfill our strategic plan initiatives.

**Position highlights**:

- Responsible for the acquisition, growth and retention of corporate partnerships to generate revenue, based on identified key strategic initiatives and for key campaigns such as the current capital campaign
- Act as the sponsorship expert internally; collaborate with other departments to ensure the coordination of asks, identification of best prospects and results of asks up to $25,000
- Develop clear, researched, targeted and effectively written and visually appealing proposals
- Work with Senior Manager, Development to identify new opportunities, develop cultivation strategies and conduct introductory calls/visits with prospects
- Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders to grow and execute Science North’s Corporate Giving Membership program
- Ensure all sponsor and donor fulfillment is delivered and reported back to sponsor/donor
- In collaboration, develops and oversees the fundraising strategy and fulfillment for Science North’s annual fundraising gala
- Work with marketing to inspire external stakeholders through effective and accurate communication of Science North’s strategic priorities in line with the interests of donors and prospects
- Lead the development and implementation of best-in-class activations and stewardship of partners by working collaboratively with internal stakeholders
- Handle sponsor communication requirements for events and liaise with other units as required

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience with sponsorships, annual giving and community fundraising, preferably in the not-for
- profit sector
- A post-secondary degree and/or diploma that aligns to the position
- Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to coordinate multiple projects on tight timelines
- Superior people skills
- Results-oriented mindset with ability to negotiate and close deals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS office suite
- A valid G driver’s license in good standing
- CFRE designation would be considered an asset
- Fluency in French would be considered an asset

**Compensation package highlights**:
This is long-term position supported by an excellent compensation package:

- Starting salary $53,500 to $65,000
