Children's Hospice Donor Appreciation and
6 months ago
**Ideal job for the semi-retired and those interested in working for the cause of a local charity.**
**We are looking for Ambassadors who live in the vicinity of Vancouver, Burnaby, and Surrey.**
**Represent Canuck Place Children's Hospice as a Donor Appreciation & Fundraising Ambassador. Increase public support for pediatric palliative care in BC & the Yukon as you engage locals in meaningful face-to-face dialogues at the front door of their homes.**
**During the warmer months**, thank current and recent supporters at their front door for making a difference with their monthly donations. Inspire donors to increase their contributions. Kilometers and insurance are reimbursed as you use your own vehicle to visit donors. Ambassadors will also introduce the public to Canuck Place Children's Hospice and invite them to become monthly donors through a door-to-door campaign. F/T and P/T available. Enjoy working afternoon and evening Monday through Friday. We don't do this past sunset and end by 8:00 pm the latest.
**During the colder months**, engage the public as you stand or sit next to a display that is set up inside of a retail venue. Conduct awareness in an inspirational manner that increases Canuck Place Children's Hospice's monthly donor base.
Pays $21 with no commission, but you can benefit by a periodic bonus.
**About us**
F2F Direct Consulting engages supporters of charitable organizations to increase public support for social causes both in Canada and overseas. We do this by developing passionate and well informed teams who inspire Canadians to provide consistent donations, over the long term, for their chosen cause.
**About the Donor Appreciation & Fundraising Position**
If you have academic or work experience in social services, fundraising, customer service or retail sales, you likely have transferable skills that would make you a successful Fundraising or Stewardship Ambassador In particular, this position has been of interest to seniors, people with call center and sales experience and cause-driven individuals. Also, of course, to people with experience in the not-for-profit and volunteer sectors.
**The Cause**
Canuck Place is a caring, innovative children’s hospice and community-based service that fully embraces the life of each child and family, providing leadership in improving pediatric palliative care regionally, nationally, and internationally through collaboration, education, and research.
Ideal job for people who are passionate about, or would like to develop an interest in, local pediatric palliative care.
More information about the charitable cause will be available during the interview process.
**Your Role**
A very important part of this Donor Appreciation and Fundraising position is making a very genuine and informed expression of gratitude.
The fundraising aspect involves either:
- During the summer, outdoors, asking the general public to become monthly donors in support of Canuck Place Children's Hospice or asking supporters to renew or increase their monthly donations in support of Canuck Place.
- During the winter, indoors, asking the general public to become monthly donors in support of Canuck Place Children's Hospice.
Supporters truly appreciate having a representative go out of their way to visit them on their home's doorstep.
**Shift Times**
The summer hours would be from 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm Monday through Friday. Shifts move to an earlier start and stop time as the sun begins to set earlier in the fall.
The winter hours, indoors, are six hour shifts at some point between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm.
**Use of your personal vehicle**
During the warmer months, you would require the use of your own vehicle to visit potential and current monthly donors at their homes. Your mileage would be reimbursed as per the Canada Revenue Agency's recommended rate of $0.70 per kilometer, typically one third of which tends to offset your cost of gas. You would not require commercial vehicle insurance, but you would need occasional business use coverage on your vehicle, which typically costs between $15 and $40 per month. We provide a monthly vehicle insurance reimbursement of up to $40.00 to offset that cost.
When working at a venue, you would need a personal vehicle to get to work every day as you bring a small display and stool with you.
**Safety**
We have several safety policies and protocols in place to limit hazards associated with working alone.
**What you bring**
While personability and personal integrity are necessary virtues in Donor Appreciation & Stewardship Ambassadors, previous experience as a fundraiser is not necessary as F2F Direct Consulting provides extensive training.
Being reasonably fit and capable of walking around local communities for the duration of your shift up to 5 times per week.
**Compensation**
Starting wage is $21/hr and does not pay commission, but does pay a periodic bonus.
Part-time and Full-time positions available (18 - 30 hours per
