Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Planning and Reporting, the Program and Planning Analyst leads the development and coordination of business and operational planning functions ensuring planning activities reflect the priorities and efforts within the Ministry and related cross-ministry initiatives.

**Salary**: $2,626.89 to $3,448.73 bi-weekly ($68,561 - $90,011/ year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
The main responsibilities of the Program and Planning Analyst include (but not limited to):

- Lead the development of the Ministry Business Plan and Operational Plan by liaising with key department staff at all levels to ensure the Ministry is able to report on achievements and progress.
- Determine the information needs of department staff and develops approaches that best meet the identified needs by working closely with other divisions, departments and stakeholders aligning GoA standards with ministry priorities.
- Provide advice and guidance to all ministry branches to support their development of Operational Plans in line with the Business Plan.
- Ensure consistency across the ministry to enable standard reporting, monitoring and tracking across the department while providing clarity to staff through operational goals and targets.
- Support the Ministry's performance metrics by monitoring and reporting the performance of the Ministry using appropriate frameworks, established policies and protocols, and established consultation and research processes.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in Public Administration, with 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

**Equivalency**:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.**Knowledge / Experience**:

- The Government of Alberta Strategic Plan.
- Ministry Business Plans, Organizational structures, programs and functions of each division and business area.
- Government of Alberta Planning and Accountability Framework requirements.
- Enterprise Risk Management requirements, systems, and processes, including identification of issues and trends.
- Awareness of performance measurement principles and techniques.
- Clients and stakeholders affected by the Ministry strategic and business planning functions, including relevant organizations, committees, advisory groups, and senior representatives.
- The political environment within which the Ministry operates and decision-making processes of government. Relevant information systems and business productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Action Request Tracking System).**Assets**:
