Outreach Coordinator

**Position Overview**
Experiences Canada is a national registered charity that helps young Canadians to explore their country in ways they never may have imagined through reciprocal exchanges, forums, conferences, and other opportunities to connect with one another. Reporting to the Manager, Youth Exchanges, the Outreach Coordinator will be responsible to enlist, develop and cultivate strong relationships with organizations, schools and stakeholders who will become partners, participants, and champions for Experiences Canada programs.
This role will be vital to ensuring that Experiences Canada meets its annual youth participant targets across three key programs: reciprocal Youth Exchanges: provides youth ages 12-18 a week-long opportunity to learn about new regions and cultures within Canada; Youth Leadership Forums: hybrid events designed to educate and connect youth on relevant Canadian issues; and an annual Professional Development Conference: an immersive event that provides educators and youth organizations with everything needed to lead our reciprocal youth exchanges. The role requires an individual with initiative, who is highly organized, and enjoys outreach to the public to promote Experiences Canada’s education programs and related activities.

**Main Responsibilities**
The Outreach Coordinator performs a wide range of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
- Develop a thorough understanding of existing audiences who have been involved in past Exchanges, Forums and PD Conferences and expand our contact database with new strategic audiences who are best aligned to Exchanges, Forums and PD Conferences.
- Become familiar with the Exchanges program including the outreach, twinning, stakeholders, regional and audience characteristics.
- Actively develop and sustain excellent collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and seeks opportunities to leverage these relationships to advance our mission.
- Work closely with the Exchanges, Forum, and PD Conference team to ensure that targets and deliverables in grants and agreements are successfully fulfilled year upon year.
- Work with the marketing/communications (MarComm) team to build awareness and support user needs and stakeholder engagement, as appropriate for each program.
- Monitor and evaluate outcomes and effectiveness of outreach strategies - through various means and measures of feedback.
- Establish positive relationships with stakeholders and ensure these are well served on a regular and ongoing basis.
- Ensure appropriate data management and record keeping, in accordance with our CRM system.
- Coordinate with all project staff (MarComm and programs) to ensure proper dissemination and storage of information.
- Seek out, and act as a representative for Experiences Canada, at various public events, conferences and community outreach activities that are deemed appropriate by your manager.
- Other duties and responsibilities as identified by your manager.
**Required Skills**:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent experience in a related field
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Strong communication and diplomatic social skills
- Ability to successfully define problems, collect data, and establish valid evidence
- Ability to produce recommendations on best outreach strategies
- Organized self-starter with an excellent ability to work on multiple projects/tasks and across departments and teams.
- Proficient in CRM, such as Salesforce
**Desired Knowledge**
- Understanding of the not-for-profit sector particularly related to youth programming.
- Demonstrated achievements in project management, coordinating timelines, and reporting.
- Exceptional organizational, time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
**Work Environment**
- Hybrid work requiring weekly in-person days in Ottawa office
- Entrepreneurial, fast-paced, collegial team-based approach
- Some travel may be required within Canada
**Position Details**:
- **Term**:1 year Contract (strong likelihood of a second year or more extension)
- **Compensation**:Range of $48,000-60,000/annum as a contract position.
