Student Development and Community Outreach

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The Student Experience Office (SEO) facilitates student-centered learning that enhances the university experience by: offering transition support, leadership opportunities, and experiential learning programs. The Student Development and Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a variety of programs and initiatives which support student skill development and foster positive relationships with campus, local, and international communities.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating programs and initiatives that fall within the experiential learning and transition support mandate of the Student Experience Office. These initiatives include but are not limited to: Community Engaged Learning (Alternative Spring Break, Campus to Community Days, on-going community partnerships) and student development transition programs.
**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of campus life and related issues
- Presentation and facilitation experience, with training development skills
- Understanding of learning styles and techniques for community-engaged learning
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with various partner organizations
**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Completion of a four year university degree. A master’s degree in student affairs, education, or related field would be considered an asset.
- Three years of experience in program organization, staff training, and volunteer supervision. Proficient in community-engaged learning, emphasizing student engagement. Skilled in volunteer activities, fundraising, marketing, and event planning. Experienced in advising and supervising student groups, with a strong understanding of student development theory and intentional program design
