Position Summary:
The Learning and Organizational Development Specialist (LODS) is responsible for learning content design, delivery, implementation and evaluation of 407 ETR’s employee learning and organizational development programs, initiatives and solutions. This role is also responsible for evaluating and monitoring the success of programs delivered, using a data-driven approach to improve engagement and participation in learning and OD initiatives.

Under the direction of the Team Manager, Learning and Development the Learning and Organizational Development Specialist will collaborate with, department leaders, project leads, and Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) to support the design, communication, facilitation and implementation of Learning and OD programs and initiatives including new hire orientation and training, employee and talent development, continuous improvement, mentoring, and other relevant OD programs.

Direct Relationships:
Team Manager, Learning and Development, Director, OD and Talent, Organizational Development and Learning Team, the core Human Resource Team, and Business Leaders throughout the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

- Design learning solutions, develop content/lesson plans and deliver interactive training including activities, audio-visual materials, participant guides, toolkits, etc., using a variety of media and interactive platforms. Ensure training reflects a blended, experiential learning approach for eLearning, remote and in-person delivery
- Partner with the Team Manager on the design, development, and delivery of the corporate leadership development program.
- Deliver new employee orientation sessions on corporate culture, structure, employee policies and systems platforms. Design content and deliver soft skills training
- Coordinate and deliver training sessions for managers and employees to ensure effective adoption and use of talent and performance management processes, tools, programs and resources
- Design and disseminate the communication of information related to learning and OD programs including crafting clear content and access to resources
- Perform as system administrator for the organization's Learning Management System (LMS) which includes responding to LMS inquiries, monitoring learning records, generating reports, and evaluating and tracking effectiveness of learning programs
- Collaborate with department leaders, project leads, key stakeholders and HRBPs to identify L&D needs, determine skills gaps, design relevant solutions and scale programs for delivery and implementation
- Partner with HRBPs to support the talent development needs of their respective client groups, developing solutions and ensuring HRBP’s are equipped with tools to effectively support execution of solutions
- Develop and report on KPIs and measures to evaluate effectiveness of L&D programs, identify, recommend and implement improvements as appropriate
- Stay up to date on learning and OD industry best practices and make recommendations to support the business and improve 407 ETR’s processes and practices
- Contribute to the success of 407 ETR’s OD Team by leading special projects, conducting research, analyzing programs, and providing critical feedback

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Adult Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field
- Certification in Training & Development (CTPD, CTP or equivalent) is desired
- 3- 5 years of hands-on experience in Learning & Development or Organizational Development is required
- Experience and knowledge of instructional design methodology, adult learning styles, Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other learning technology platform, research methodology, and assessment tools are an asset (Experience in Workday an asset)
- Strong facilitation skills and experience presenting to various employee levels and diverse business audiences. Experience facilitating leadership development courses to leadership teams. Franklin Covey facilitation certification is an asset.
- Strong content creation and written skills to effectively deliver impactful content to a diverse audience at all levels. Strong presentation skills, and adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Well-developed logical, analytical, problem-solving skills, with ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information and data to stakeholder groups
- Able to “think outside of the box” and make innovative improvements to the quality of communication, learning content, presentation material, and programs
- Strong collaborative approach with colleagues, client groups and key stakeholders
- Excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to keep all stakeholders informed and up to date on key projects and priorities
