**Pay Grade**
- The annual salary range is $70,437- $112,872 (at 100% appointment) and is based on qualifications, experience, and the placement criteria of Article 14 of the NICFA Collective agreement.

**Position Summary**
- Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Science and Management and working under the direction and guidance of the Coordinator Work Integrated Education, the Employment Engagement Facilitator will initiate and build strong relationships with employers and develop internship and co-operative education opportunities in the Campbell River and Comox Valley areas. One of the main goals is to promote NIC and its students to prospective employers and generate new leads for the internship and co-operative education programs. The Employment Engagement Facilitator will focus on establishing a sustainable framework to target new employers, make cold calls and follow up calls to potential employers, identify job leads and secure suitable job opportunities leveraging alumni relationships for job development, increase program awareness among private and public employers, perform market research and analysis and attend relevant industry and career fairs.
- The Employment Engagement Facilitator will support and collaborate with the Student Employment Services team to ensure the success of a sustainable work integrated program, including internship or co-op within the Faculty of Arts, Science and Management (or other faculties as required) and in accordance with the Authorized Course Descriptions (ACDs). The incumbent will also coordinate industry and employer events both on and off campus.
- The Employment Engagement Facilitator will provide support and guidance with student job search, approval and final grade submission of placement for internship and co-op courses at NIC. This position may be required to back-fill for the Coordinator, Work Integrated Education occasionally and during planned leaves.
- The Facilitator is expected to have considerable experience in the area of career development and employment services; developing and delivering career development workshops, supporting employment placements in business, and working with adult students in the private or public sector.
- This position requires strong communication skills with particular attention to intercultural communication and the ability to mentor students with a work integrated learning component in their respective programs. The incumbent is innovative and well versed in Canadian and local labour markets. The incumbent is skilled in establishing and maintaining high functioning collaborative relationships and networks. The incumbent is an active and supportive member of the college and upholds the mission, vision and values of the College.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**1.0 Instruction, Evaluation and Student Support**
- 1.1 Collaborate with the CWIE to support the learning objectives in the Authorized Course Description for all Faculty of Arts, Science and Management internship or co-op courses.
- 1.2 Support students in preparation for the job market through both one-on-one appointments as well as group workshops where appropriate.
- 1.3 Evaluate and approve the appropriateness of work term opportunities for specific academic program objectives
- 1.4 Provide support to students with establishing goals and learning outcomes as part of their job placement process.
- 1.5 Hold regular office hours for student and employer interactions.
- 1.6 Conduct work term/site visits to evaluate student performance for internship/co-op placements if needed.
- 1.7 May be required to provide final assessment and grade for student performance internship courses in the Faculty of Arts, Science and Management. and submit grades in a timely manner.
