**The Role**

We are looking for a Product Development Manager with a focus in design for home têxtiles to join our team. We are seeking a high-spirited, motivated and energized employee who is results driven, collaborative and enjoys problem solving. This position reports to the Director of Product Development and will be responsible for overseeing programs and the Product Development team, which includes PD coordinators, technical designers and sample coordinators. The Product Development Manager will also liaise closely with the Director of PD to deliver programs, improve processes and execute on strategic initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- Assign programs to the Product Development Coordinators and Technical Designers, and monitor the status to ensure key milestones/deadlines are met
- Schedule and approve vacations, sick days and ensuring that all processes implemented by HR and Finance are adhered to
- Oversee, support and provide ongoing feedback to the Product Development Coordinators, Technical Designers and Sample Coordinators
- Identify innovative products to leverage across client segments
- Accountable for the Product Development Team’s specs and artwork for quality, colour and construction accuracy prior to sample dispatch to clients and/or approval for production
- Work with the Product Development Team members to find creative solutions when they encounter issues or unexpected delays with vendors, clients and/or the internal team
- Accountable for the product development systems and processes and ensure that team members are leveraging such systems and processes with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure that issues and delays are communicated efficiently and effectively with account coordinators and provide creative solutions/suggestions to mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with departments to improve processes and eliminate bottlenecks to ensure client program milestones are being achieved
- Liaise cross-functionally on matters related to capacity, process change and challenges that could impact client satisfaction or processes across functional area
- Manage the overall capacity of the product developers, technical designers and sample coordinators and work closely with HR to assess department human resource requirements
- Collaborate with HR to conduct annual performance reviews for the Product Development Team and work with each team member to ensure they have clearly defined goals that they are working towards
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, approachable team environment and champion the values of Industria for the Product Development Team

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Illustration, têxtiles and or design
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Proficient with Adobe Illustrator
- 5-10 years experience working with apparel and/or home soft goods
- 5-10 years product development experience with major North American retailers
- Understand public relations and their relationship to forthcoming products as well as the current areas of interest in the rising market (e.g. environmentally friendly products)
- People management experience
- Ability and ease to participate in client meetings as required
- Knowledge of têxtiles, and cut and sew construction
- Highly organized and extremely detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Due to the nature of this work, a hybrid schedule may be possible

Salary will be commensarate with experience and the qualifications listed above

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
