**Role**:
The purpose of this job is to provide consistent employee/labour relations support that fosters positive associate relations to create an environment where individuals and teams can thrive and deliver high performance. The Human Resources Generalist works collaboratively with leadership to execute aligned local, regional, and corporate human resources programs and initiatives successfully within a location or region.
**Role Responsibilities**:
**Employee support & guidance**:
- Main point of contact for employee inquiries, questions and/or concerns.
- Offer guidance and recommendations for problem resolution, redirecting or escalating as appropriate.
- **Attracting & managing talent**:
- Support new hires through onboarding program by providing new hire orientation, support and guidance.

- Develop and foster relationships with key stakeholders and work to implement initiatives/programs that aim to enhance team culture.
- Lead role in employee engagement initiatives.
- Support annual performance management process and assist with tracking and reporting as required.
- Educate new hires and existing employees on benefit coverage and perks.
- Manage the short-term and long-term disability processes, liaising with benefits carrier.
- Maintain all HR information systems (HRIS, Benefits, Pension, Personnel files).
- Ensure HRIS information is accurate and provide training and technical support to supervisors
- Audit time cards and run weekly reports to ensure accurate, complete and timely data for corporate payroll processing.
- Provide data/analytics reports to leaders in support of business reporting, planning and management.
- Maintain employee files - compliant with audit standards.
- Coordinate effective communication and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, national initiatives & Sysco programs.
- Other duties as required.
- University Degree or Diploma in Human Resources; CPHR Designation or working towards obtaining designation.
- Minimum 2-3 years HR experience.
- Extensive computer experience using Microsoft Suite; ADP Work Force Now (WFN); Social Media.
- Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy.
- Must have a clear understanding of British Columbia employment law.
