Coordinators support museum operations, staff, and the public to ensure the success of the Toronto History Museums.

Toronto History Museums are a collection of 10 historic sites owned and operated by the City of Toronto with the mission to collect, preserve, research, interpret, exhibit, and enhance the understanding of Toronto’s diverse stories through engaging and exciting experiences. Since 2020, the Toronto History Museums Strategic Plan: Laying A New Foundation has set a new direction for the way forward. As its programming anchor, the Breakthrough is a series of dynamic cultural experiences at Toronto History Museums. It connects us, paving a new way forward through art, creativity and innovation and celebrates diversity, inclusion, equality, wellness, sustainability, and advocacy.

**Major Responsibilities**:
- Oversees museum operation, provides staff direction, strategic planning, development and coordination of programs for clients and the community.- Conducts the appropriate analysis to initiate and develop plans to ensure effective and efficient operational planning and service delivery.- Identifies, nurtures, and administers community partnerships to ensure that cultural diversity of the city is reflected in the programs.- Maintains relationships with various client groups, including teachers, group leaders, volunteer organizations, community partners, arts groups and business partners.- Develops and delivers new interpretive, educational and exhibit programs for a variety of client groups in response to changing environmental and demographic factors.- Ensures a high quality of public service through the evaluation of client needs and coordination of on-site response.- Ensures the mission and mandate of the museum are met and develops a long-term plan for the facility in accordance with the section/division strategic plans and objectives. Develops and implements strategies to involve under-represented and under-served communities in the museums.- Plans, develops, administers, evaluates, and coordinates the museums’ existing interpretive services and other public services.- Assists in recruiting, selecting, training, and monitoring service delivery of part-time Recreation staff.- Schedules the work of staff, trains and motivates staff and volunteers in the museum. Develops and implements quality service delivery standards, fiscal management strategies, and sound financial management emphasizing internal control to meet the needs of customers and to achieve revenue targets.- Provides input into and administers assigned operating budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled, and revenues are collected and deposited, in compliance with corporate finance policies and procedures.- Maintains records related to budget administration.- Prepares contracts and invoices for room rentals.-
- Ensures compliance with safety and security matters under Occupational Health and Safety legislation and divisional safety and security policies, including workplace accommodations. Communicates with a variety of client groups and liaises with stakeholders and contributes to the development and implementation of marketing activities for the museums and for special projects as assigned.-
- Prepares materials for marketing the museum, and other special projects that may include Doors Open Toronto, and other municipal initiatives.- Participates in outreach programming and promotion of museum related programs and events.

**Key Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in a discipline(s) such as museum studies, history, arts administration, education, cultural site management, etc., or an equivalent combination of education and experience.-
