**About Us**:
The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres. The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).

**Responsibilities**:
The Program Assistant (Clinical Placements) is responsible for supporting the effective and efficient administration of clinical placements within the Rehabilitation Sector Schools to ensure students have a positive placement experience. The Program Assistant will provide a first point of contact for all inquiries related to clinical placements and will act as a resource for students, external clinic partners, and the associated clinical coordinators for each School, providing guidance regarding placement policies, procedures and processes in response to inquiries, providing referrals to other individuals or resources as required. The Program Assistant provides assistance with the planning and coordination of placement processes including ensuring students have completed pre-requisite requirements prior to starting their placements, matching students with a clinical practice, recommending improvements to processes and identifying placement opportunities with new or existing partners as required. The Program Assistant will also create and maintain confidential clinical databases, ensuring information reflects the current clinical placements and associated student information, in order to improve usage of the clinical databases amongst users. In addition, the Program Assistant provides support for the implementation of financial functions as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- 2 year Community College Diploma in Business Management/Administration or related field

**Experience**:
- 3 years’ of experience providing administrative support and customer service in an academic and/or health care environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills to complete accurate calculations
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work Environment
- Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
