Since its inception in 1928, the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) has governed the Métis within Alberta. The MNA is led by a democratically elected Provincial Council, comprised of a Provincial President, a Vice
**The Opportunity**
The Deputy CEOs will assist the CEO in overseeing the voting process. Polling locations will be running in various locations throughout Alberta, and the Deputy CEOs will be responsible for helping to ensure the voting process is carried out in accordance with the Elections and Referenda Act.
The Deputy CEOs will possess organizational, leadership, communication, and management skills that will facilitate and ensure the efficient and effective operations of the MNA 2023 General Election. Background knowledge on the MNA and the history of the Métis Nation of Alberta is preferred. Working knowledge of Cree and/or Michif is also preferred. Training will be provided as part of this role; however the Deputy CEOs will be expected to maintain a high degree of independence and manage a team of staff and Electoral Officers throughout the province.
The Deputy CEOs are not officers or employees of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office software.
- Proven conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent with problem solving issues that arise.
- Experience managing a team of more than 20 people.
- Adaptable and flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Possess political awareness and sensitivity when interacting with others.
- Ability to work well with a team or independently.
**Qualifications**
- Deep knowledge of elections and voting processes within Canada, at the Federal, Provincial, or Municipal level.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as an Electoral Officer or similar role is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science or an equivalent qualification. Persons with several years’ experience in a similar role will be considered.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must not be an elected member of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.

- Must be able to provide a clear Police Information Check (Criminal Record Check).
