This is currently a hybrid position and is based at our Corporate Head Office in Burlington, Ontario.

**Key Responsibilities**

Credit Risk
1. Assessment of credit risk for Retail, Small Business and Commercial lending portfolios, ensuring the maintenance of credit quality and that the loan portfolio remains within the established Expected Credit Loss (ECL) allowances.

2. Consistent monitoring of changing legislation and efficient adaptation of polices/procedures and authorization limits.

3. Spot and escalate any discrepancies and recommend an action plan for remediation of non-compliant loans.

4. Tracking and monitoring the usage of and adherence to Retail, Small Business and Commercial lending limits.

5. Develop and maintain Retail, Small Business and Commercial management information to track performance.

6. Work with risk owners to develop key monitoring and reporting metrics to identify trends, key performance and risk indicators.

7. Minimize loan risks through diligent, timely and proactive financial reviews, analysis of portfolio exposures and awareness of changing economic/marketplace influences and applicable industry trends/data.

8. Perform micro-audits to ensure adequate security documentation over the course of the loan term.

9. Monitoring of performance and lending trends, loan quality assessment, and loan loss provisions.

Market Risk
1. In conjunction with the Finance Department, identify, measure and analyze market risk with the goal of effective overall risk management.

2. In conjunction with the Finance Department, ensure there is appropriate risk governance and risk management processes.

3. Adapting to current developments and future directions in market risk management.

4. Advising on risk characteristics of complex deals/trades.

5. Reporting market information to internal and external stakeholders.

6. Conduct ongoing quality assurance reviews over Finance Operations (Accounting, Market Risk and Treasury).

7. Completes the annual Securitization Risk Assessment - identify risks, implement controls, stress testing.

**Education and Experience**
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Minimum of 3-5 years of performing credit risk management functions
- Minimum of 3-5 years of exposure to treasury and market risk functions
- Experience working in financial services, specifically a credit union, is considered an asset

Knowledge
- Demonstrated working knowledge of balance sheets and reconciliations related to the financial industry
- Solid analytical skills in the areas of retail, small business and commercial analysis, cash flow and business plans
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
- Strong understanding of regulatory environment and requirements

**Skills**:

- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Decision-making ability and experience in data analysis
- Ability to analyze and evaluate information and report data accurately
- Effective planning and organizational skills, with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines

**Other Requirements**
Due to deadline and time constraints, the hours of work may extend beyond the normal work week. There can be numerous and varied responsibilities, which require constant prioritizing to ensure that all duties are completed efficiently, accurately and on a timely basis. It is a requirement of this position to be able to perform well under pressure while working towards meeting established objectives within the set timeframes.
