**About the role**
The **Business Development Representative** exists to solve unmet market needs in the CDMO and recombinant protein manufacturing industry. The _Business Development Representative_ reports to the VP of Sales & Marketing, working closely with other members of the marketing and executive teams. This role will learn the ins and outs of our technology to quickly get up to speed on the nuances of our business. The role will develop an understanding of our platform and position us to solve problems in recombinant protein supply and manufacturing. Primarily an outbound role, the representative will strive to maintain a high cadence of sourcing and qualifying new business opportunities. In-tune with the nature of a startup, the role has significant cross-functionality between sales development and account management.
**This role will own** a significant volume of our business development outreach efforts with regards to our products and services. Specific responsibilities include:
- Organize, categorize, and prioritize sales leads in CRM and measure lead conversion and performance against quota
- Leverage prospecting tools to research companies and identify key stakeholders at new accounts. Confident and accurate CRM use, management, and adjustment to maintain and improve data integrity and forecasting capabilities
- Schedule, conduct, and report on meetings with new and existing leads. Contribute to ongoing buyer journey understanding to inform market strategy development and refinement
- Develop customized pitches for different target accounts and personas
- Answer inquiries and questions from customers and leads related to product use and performance assessment
**This role will assist by**:
- Collaborate with marketing and support efforts to enhance lead generation strategies across various markets
- Work closely across the organization to participate in planning and executing effective product roll-outs and promotional activities
- Attend both in-person and virtual events to expand our brand awareness and network within the life sciences community
- Share valuable feedback on the customer experience throughout the buying and sales cycle, contributing to our continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure a cohesive and seamless customer experience throughout the buyer's journey, from lead generation to account nurturing
- Actively participate in and amplify product launch and promotional efforts, leveraging your growing network of industry connections
- Participate with the sales and marketing team to optimize our distribution network to enhance outbound efforts for our products and services
**This role requires**
- Experience in building client relationships or understanding of sales and business development strategy, particularly in the life sciences
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and a strong ability to clearly and passionately communicate our products and technology
- The ability to move quickly between accounts with varied needs and manage quickly shifting priorities
