POSITION OVERVIEW
The incumbent is responsible, along with the team, for actively contributing to the updating and operationalization of the strategic action plan for consulting services. They are involved in all stages of strategic and business planning, as well as communication, stakeholder management and group performance management. They have a deep understanding of Canadian consulting services and entrepreneurs, conducting in-depth studies and analyses that will be used to develop recommendations and turn ideas into reality.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET-
- Co-leads the annual planning process, including updating the strategic plan and aligning with other business lines. To do so, produces analyses and action plans that will support decision-making and continuous improvement.- Leads the group's strategic, financial, and operational performance review, including reporting for different levels of management. Follows-up during the year with the support functions to ensure the implementation.- Leads communications and supports stakeholder management in the operationalization of the strategy. Evaluates the impact of strategic changes.- Works closely with BDC's Strategic Projects and Initiatives Advisory team and other strategy teams to translate strategies into operational plans and ensure implementation feasibility.- In charge of content development for strategic retreats and off-site meetings as it relates to our business line.- Depending on the needs, is responsible for the development of Consulting Services strategies in alignment with major corporate and operational strategies. To do this, creates and supports multi-department strategies for the Consulting Services team that integrate new expertise (AI, ESG, etc.).- Develops strategic documents that simplify complex information and develops compelling presentations, communications, and models to support decision-making.- Interacts regularly with members of senior management and responded to requests for sensitive strategic information within often tight deadlines.- Develops and maintains a network of internal and external partners that provides a diverse perspective of the Consulting ecosystem in Canada.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline- 10 to 15 years of experience combining significant experience in consulting firms (strategy or change management) and/or in the operationalization of business unit strategy.- Excellent knowledge of the consulting industry- Excellent strategic perspectives and understanding of customer needs/expectations.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal/external partners.- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, ability to make effective oral and written presentations and communications (PPT Master)- Ability to make quality decisions and solve complex problems.- Flexible and collaborative approach, influential leadership- Excellent interpersonal skills and mobilization of interdisciplinary teams- Good ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity, and from a blank page.- Bilingualism (French, English) an asset
