Government Communications and Public Engagement (GCPE) is a dynamic, progressive and innovative organization that supports external communication of government in its ongoing dialogue with British Columbians. GCPE leads and coordinates government communications through its three divisions: Strategic Communications, Communications Operations and Corporate Priorities.

The Manager, Digital Content helps drive the approach to online communications for government. This position is responsible for the development of digital content and serves as a coordinating role in ensuring all government digital communications follow best practices and adhere to brand guidelines. This person helps ensure digital practitioners in government tell good stories that support the communications objectives of the government of BC. They also help manage strategic projects and content deliverables.

**Job Requirements**:

- Post-secondary degree in a communication related field (journalism, public relations, political science, writing, English, marketing etc.) AND 5 years or more progressively responsible *related experiences; **OR**:

- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Related experience is defined as a combination of the following:

- Experience in communications/marketing positions.
- Experience in managing web and social media presence, content, and analytics.
- Experience with social media outreach and strategic online engagement.
- Project management experience.
- Public relations, stakeholder or community management experience.

Preference may be given to those with:

- Experience speaking, reading and writing Mandarin, Cantonese and/or Punjabi.
- Experience with implementation of best practice in social media, social media advertising and online advertising.

**About this Position**:
An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and/or temporary opportunities.

This position is a Temporary Assignment for 1 year, with the possibility of extension and/or the position becoming permanent.

This position is excluded from union membership.
