This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement this position has an approximate appointment of 2 years and offers a comprehensive benefits package found at Faculty & Staff Benefits and annual salary range of $58,938 to $81,051.

**Location - **North Campus Edmonton. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.

**Position**

Reporting to the IPIA Director and working alongside the IPIA Administrative Assistant, the IPIA Program Coordinator will lead day-to-day operations supporting the Institute for Prairie and Indigenous Archaeology. This position will be primarily responsible for a range of project coordination, research management, community engagement, public relations, research and events support tasks. This position will also act as a secondary administrative support to the IPIA Administrative Assistant.

**Duties**
- Assists the IPIA Director with planning. May complete budget and/or administrative planning.
- Prepare reports (financial, progress, research, scientific, or final reports) as requested for distribution to stakeholders, granting agencies, external funders, or the public.
- May complete or oversee various tasks and activities (Communications, HR, Finance, Advancement, etc.) for the institute in conjunction with a Faculty Partner.
- Acts as secondary administrative support to the IPIA Administrative Assistant (including procurement and finance, space allocation, facility and operations, system access, travel arrangements, and schedule management, among others)
- Organizes research project symposia, conferences, lectures, seminars or meetings.
- Responsible for IPIA designated lab space and equipment management, including safety, maintenance, and training.
- Coordinates the volunteer program for IPIA associates and students to provide additional research support and student opportunities.
- Participates in and oversees community-led archaeological research projects for the IPIA including research design, data collection, data processing, results, and final reports.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Minimum Master’s degree in Archaeology/Anthropology or Indigenous studies.
- Minimum 2 years experience in research, program delivery, and project management.
- Working knowledge of UAlberta processes and softwares, including SupplyNet, PeopleSoft, Financials, and other relevant programs.
- Experience with program delivery, office management, conference and workshop organization.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working with First Nations, Mètis and Inuit communities, Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous political structures.
- Willing to travel within Alberta, evening and weekend work occasionally required.
