We are looking for a **part-time Human Resources Generalist** to join our corporate team. This is an **on-site position based in Westwood Arena, working 3 days per week.** This position is ideal for someone with a breadth of HR experience looking for a true generalist role but who prefers to work reduced hours.

**Job Summary**

Reporting to the VP, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the HR department including full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, administration, benefits, HR Programs, leave of absence, as well as creating and enforcing company policies, procedures and best practices. The position will support 5 arena locations in Ontario.

**Specific Job Responsibilities**
- Assist and coach managers in employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution and separations.
- HR Administration: prepare employment contracts, company-wide HR memos, employee verification letters, etc.
- Acting as a back-up for payroll and processing employee ROEs.
- Track and maintain employee personal information, time off requests, and training certificates using HRIS (CommonOffice).
- Conduct audits of employee records by location and review all employee activities (hires, rehires, departure, etc.) and review employee documents in electronic folders.
- Conduct employee harassment complaint investigations on complex sensitive matters and provide recommendations on appropriate actions.
- Administer the company’s benefits plan, leave of absence and disability management.
- Ensure the company is in compliance with applicable regulations, i.e., Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act and keep up-to-date with new regulations.
- Assist with health and safety initiatives as needed.
- Provide direction to Payroll and act as a backup for processing bi-weekly payroll as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Participate in special HR and operational projects as required.

**Education, Experience and Skills**
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- Experience working in the hospitality or sports and recreational industry is an asset.
- Comfortable working in a one-person HR department.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
