**Job Summary**:
**Summary of Job Details**:

- Day to day management of all kitchen-related activities
- Production and support of production of all culinary facets within the organization
- Menu planning, recipe development and writing, testing and refining recipes for café operations and corporate catering department; work collaboratively with the Catering Chef to refine existing menus, and develop new menus in accordance with urban element brand and mission to integrate high quality and local products
- Ensure that food quality, brand and presentation always meet urban element standards (and ensure that kitchen staff are also meeting and exceeding these quality and presentation standards)
- Establish, uphold, communicate to staff, and be accountable for all policies and procedures - opening, closing and clean up are completed to standard
- Always lead by example in meeting established company standards

**People Processes**:

- Work jointly with Kitchen Supervisor & Café Supervisor on FOH + BOH initiatives to ensure that policies and procedures are in effect and aligned working towards common team goals
- Create and manage the schedule for all kitchen staff to ensure that sufficient resources are in place
- Create, implement and execute training programs with all kitchen staff, ongoing training, mentoring and professional development for advancement
- Ensure that all kitchen staff have relevant resources, guidance and information required to fulfill their job functions and exceed client expectations through clear communication and feedback systems

**Inventory Management**:

- Manage inventory for food and beverage items, develop and manage budgets for food, equipment, maintenance and other miscellaneous items pertaining directly to kitchen
- Liaise with relevant suppliers on a regular basis to maintain regular re-order systems
- Assist in the regular inventory & accountability of all kitchen supplies
- Help manage and control inventory levels; ensure that proper rotation and turnover of supplies is occurring
- Create and contribute to administrative reports and tracking systems for data management
- Maintain existing supplier relationships and investigate new suppliers
- Tracking kitchen waste and seeking ways of creating efficiencies

**Expense Management**:

- Work in conjunction with management team to forecast monthly financial targets and goals
- Budget setting and expense management in relation to all relevant kitchen activities
- Responsible for the management of labour hours that supports business operations within the defined annual budget
- Sourcing new products and working with local suppliers and farmers to remain on mission with culinary philosophy

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
