Job Title: Inside Sales Associate - Projects
Reports To: Director, Global Projects
Location: Vancouver or Toronto
**Job Purpose**:
We are looking for a self-motivated, determined, and passionate individual who strive to provide exceptional customer service.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Communicate between BDMs and operations regarding a quote requests, shipment status updates SOP compliance, special report accuracy, etc.
- Follow up on quotes to customers and agents
- Record, store and report all sales activities, account information, industry information, competitive information, and any other information deemed necessary by BDMs and projects director
- Support the BDMs and projects team with the completion of proposals, as requested on a one on one basis
- Assist with rate sourcing where necessary, assist with follow up to ensure quotes are completed by indicated deadlines
- Work with the BDMs to determine opportunities within existing and new accounts
- Maintain account intelligence system (i.e. CRM) that presentations, customer visit schedule, as well as any other sales activities.
- Gather feedback on exhibitors prior to trade shows, seminars, and industry associations
- Compose SOP’s and update when necessary
- Monitor special reports to existing customers generated by Operations
- Review carrier selection and profitability
- Research on project announcements through online resources, customer news, industry publications, etc
- Take the lead generation on sources provided by BDMs (magazines, trade show listings, etc), online research and pre-qualification
- Prepare and submit final quotes to clients on the behalf of the BDMs (when required)
- Act as account implementation lead for the on-boarding of new accounts, as required
- Work with the Projects Director and BDM team in sourcing of new project opportunities, verticals/ industries
- Research through CRM tool of current global accounts for development in North America
- Cold calling, as necessary, to help secure appointments for BDMs
- Other duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- University degree, or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible experience
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in sales
- Previous experience selling in the logistics industry is a strong asset.
- Driven Sales Orientation
- Working knowledge of operations and transportation management.
- Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions.
- Project management skills are considered an asset
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good financial and business awareness.
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
- Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy, and tact.
