**Human Resources & Payroll Director - Private Career College**

We seek a dynamic individual to manage our HR department comprehensively, handling payroll processing, employee benefits administration, recruitment, employee relations, and regulatory compliance. **Key Responsibilities**:

- **Payroll Management**: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including accurate payroll review, compliance with payroll regulations, and maintaining payroll records using ADP Workforce Now, PowerPay, and Ceridian systems.
- **Benefits Administration**: Manage employee benefit plans and resolve benefit-related issues. Coordinate with providers to support employees’ needs seamlessly.
- **Leave Management**: Administer medical, parental, and long-term disability leaves. Act as a liaison with benefits providers to ensure seamless processing and employee support.
- **Employee Relations & Performance Management**: Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters such as performance management, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
- **Policy Development**: Develop and implement HR policies aligned with our mission and values. Ensure compliance with employment laws, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- **Advisory Support**: Serve as an advisor on HR policies, compensation, benefits, and collective agreements. Assist in updating the Employee Handbook and provide coaching on policy adherence.
- **Record Keeping & Reporting**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including attendance, performance, and payroll documentation.
- **HR Budgeting**: Oversee the HR budget, forecasting, and reporting on HR-related expenses.
- **Cross-Departmental Collaboration**: Partner with the IT team on HR system security and participate in college-wide projects and initiatives.
- **Offboarding**: Manage voluntary and involuntary terminations, conducting exit interviews, coordinating clearance procedures, and ensuring a respectful offboarding process.
- **Attendance & Absenteeism Management**: Address attendance issues, implement return-to-work programs, and provide disciplinary support when needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, including payroll administration.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta’s employment laws and regulations.
- Experience in a private career college environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems like Ceridian Dayforce is an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accurate record-keeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
