**About us**

Canadian Islamic Union is a registered Canadian charity and an educational institute that prides itself on being the only institute to offer Arabic education following the curriculum of Al-Azhar University. CIU hopes to collectively develop strong bonds between Muslim members of the community based on the correct and balanced/moderate understanding of Islam. CIU will provide essential family services at the highest quality to families and friends. Together we will work towards removing the obstacles for the current and future generations to carry on living as successful Muslim Canadians.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and teach lessons that promote the progress of students
- Find interactive ways and utilize a variety of teaching methods to create differentiated opportunities for all learners
- Assess and record the development and progress of students by issuing grades, progress reports, and report cards
- Manage the classroom to ensure positive behavior
- Communicate, cooperate, and consult with school staff and management as well as parents/guardians to serve the best interests of students
- Attend all staff meetings

**Qualification & Requirements**:

- Undergraduate degree in islamic studies or education preferred, but not mandatory
- Proven record of previous teaching experience
- Sound knowledge of Islamic studies and Islamic values
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of best practices and ability to adhere to school procedures and policies
- Effective classroom management and organizational skills that lead to a positive learning environment
- Excellent leadership skills that result in effective role modeling
- Creative, positive, and energetic demeanor
- Ability to pass a background screening

**Pay and Benefits**:
Remuneration for this will be based on experience and qualifications along with working schedule and number of students attending a particular program. This can be discussed in the interview.
