**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
We are seeking a temporary full-time Research Coordinator to work within the TRAIL lab, a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team investigating ways to enhance the inclusion and participation of children and youth with disabilities. The Research Coordinator, reporting to the Principal Investigator, will help lead the recruitment, data collection, analysis and knowledge translation and the day-to-day operations of the TRAIL lab. Our current projects include: "Intersectional lived experiences of youth with disabilities"; "Enhancing healthy and productive work for youth and young adults with disabilities" funded through a CIHR-SSHRC partnership grant; and "Accessible and inclusive housing for people with disabilities."
There is potential for renewal depending on performance and funding.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist in the development of data collection forms and/or questionnaires
- Assist PI with annual approval process and amend protocols and consents
- Conduct literature reviews that are kept in Endnotes database
- Perform data entry and analysis, including quantitative (in SPSS) and qualitative (in NVIVO)
- Assist in knowledge translation activities including design/development of promotional materials, reports, manuscripts, posters, PowerPoint presentations, lay summaries, infographics, and organizing stakeholder events
- Organize team meetings, agendas, and keep minutes and project records
- Research participant related responsibilities
- Co-ordinate research study activities, recruitment, data collection REB and compliance
- Co-ordinate research activities including assessment/confirmation of participant eligibility, recruitment, collecting survey, interview and other data, conducting interviews, focus groups, participate in site/monitor visits and initiative/maintain research files
- Develop and maintain case-report forms, data collection forms and/or surveys, study logs
- Submit to REB, assist in coordinating revisions, maintain approvals and amend documentation as required
- Organize study files/checklists, data and procedural manuals, checklists of eligibility and materials to facilitate protocol adherence
- Initiate and maintain research files including original consent documentation, general correspondence and data collection forms
- Perform/assist with database design, data entry, ongoing maintenance, data quality and analysis
- Develop and monitor timelines for the study
- Contribute to preparation of reports, poster, presentations, manuscript development and knowledge translation materials including promotional materials and newsletters
- Keep up-to-date on regulations and policies governing research
- Support team activities including meeting scheduling, preparing agendas and minutes for team meetings, note-taking, photocopying, setting up equipment for in-person and hybrid meetings as required
- Liaise with team members, research partners, participants, caregivers and other community stakeholders as needed
- Assist with research and related administrative tasks as directed, required or assigned
- Human resources and financial responsibilities
- Co-supervise (with Principal Investigator) other Research Assistants, staff, trainees and volunteers
- Assist in training/orientation of new research staff, volunteers and trainees within the lab
- Prepare/Submit purchase requisitions, invoices, expense reports, supplies, tokens of appreciation for participants
- Maintain budget records
- Communicates in a timely and effective manner
- Other duties as assigned
**MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Master's degree in Health or Social Science (preferably thesis-based) or a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years related research experience
- Strong background in health, social or rehabilitation sciences or disability studies, preferred
- Function independently, yet collaboratively within a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
- Displays agility in responding to changing workloads and priorities
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, outlook) and willingness to learn other software as needed
- Knowledge of statistical database platforms (e.g. REDCap, SPSS, etc.) and analysis
- Excellent knowledge qualitative research methods and analysis (e.g. NVIVO)
- Experience with children and youth with disabilities or pediatric health research is an asset
- Experience with qualitative data including Nvivo and systematic reviews including Covidence is an asset
- Excellent organization, time management and priority setting goals
- Strong ability to pay meticulous attention to detail while maintaining
