**Position summary**:
The Research Coordinator will support the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care’s Research Team and other staff involved in research projects in the ongoing development and management of research studies. The overall function of this position is to contribute to manage the daily operations of multiple research projects.

**Minimum education and experience**:

- A Master’s degree in a health-related field
- 2 years of experience in research coordination
- Experience in health services or clinical research preferred

**Skills/qualifications**
- A solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Excellent data management skills
- Ability to synthesize extensive amount of information into a cohesive, comprehensive summary
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in writing manuscripts, conference presentations and posters
- Excellent organizational skills
- Capacity to take initiative, think critically, problem solve and make decisions as appropriate
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight and direction
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, be flexible in workflow and meet deadlines
- Commitment to work cooperatively as part of an interdisciplinary team of clinical, research and administrative staff
- Capable of exercising good judgement, discretion, and initiative in dealing with confidential information
- Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Knowledge of analytical programs (NVIVO, SAS, SPSS or Stata) and citation management software (EndNote) is an asset
- Capacity to adapt to new technologies quickly and pro-actively
- Solid work ethic and demonstrated work performance and attendance history

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Support and participate in project development and planning
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of multiple active research projects under the direction of senior research staff, to ensure project deadlines are met
- Develop budgets for research projects and manage project funds to ensure projects remain on budget
- Coordinate meetings, prepare meeting materials and take meeting notes
- Anticipate and troubleshoot problems at all stages of project development and implementation, assist with modifying protocols or project procedures to address challenges
- Responsible for collecting data and data entry, including interviewing study participants and creating and distributing surveys, creating databases to store study data
- Support data clean up and analysis, including preparing demographic data tables and simple statistics for manuscripts and presentations and creating and managing project files for qualitative analysis
- Assist in the preparation of posters and manuscripts
- Participate in regular Research Team meetings
