**Position Summary**
The Clinical Trial Coordinator II collaborates with Investigators and health care team to assume responsibility for the overall patient management and coordination of several clinical trials for the Division of Rheumatology, Schroeder Arthritis Institute, Toronto Western Hospital. Studies include mainly pharma-sponsored and cooperative group sponsored trials.
**Duties**
- Clinical trial development (e.g., liaising and trial sponsors, review of trial protocols and trial budget development and negotiation).
- Overseeing regulatory protocols including ethics submissions, development of informed consent forms, ongoing amendments and annual renewals, ensuring regulatory compliance and training.
- Coordination of patient visits schedules as per study protocol
- Execution of all aspects of study visit (e.g. assessment adverse events, monitoring safety, medication, questionnaires, sample collection, including processing and shipment of samples according to clinical protocol)
- Provides clinical care for patients participating in clinical trials and the implementation and coordination of all aspects of data collection and source documentation, as per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines.
- Oversees financial management of trials (e.g., budget tracking and invoicing).
- Identifies, analyzes and interprets research participant and/or trial information and uses sound knowledge, skill and judgment to respond proactively and/or in a timely manner.
**Qualifications**
- Must have a BSc degree in health sciences with a minimum of three years of experience in clinical trials; BSc in Nursing is preferred
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
- Recognized certification in clinical research (ACRP or SOCRA)
- Training in ICH/GCP guidelines
- Knowledge of IATA shipping regulations and basic laboratory procedure
- Evidence of good physical assessment, psychosocial assessment, documentation, and patient/family teaching skill
- Experience in clinical trial budget negotiation
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to set priorities and work independently with accuracy in a dynamic environment
